Born and brought up in Mysore, but I call Bengaluru my home. I draw inspiration, grit and perseverance from my late father, who was a Judge, well-read and well ahead of his times. Although time was a constraint being a single mom, I have always believed in cooking a well-balanced meal for my family; my research in kitchen has always been in cooking up healthy dishes in a jiffy. Apart from cooking, I am interested in gardening, an ardent trekker having recently completed the Everest Base Camp trek and have a penchant for music.
With a Masters in Botany, MPhil in Seed Pathology and a PhD in Food Science from CFTRI (Central Food Technology Research Institute), I am naturally inclined towards understanding the chemistry of food , which in turn helps in ‘up cycling’ food and reducing wastage with consciousness towards preserving nutrients and food safety.
Through this blog, I hope to make you fall in love, immerse yourself in the science of food and to find joy in what could’ve been just a mundane chore.
